How to Buy USDT using ETB (Birr) via P2P on the Bitget App
Prerequisites:
● Download Bitget application on Playstore or app store
● Register for a Bitget account and verify your Bitget app using your national ID or Passport
TL;DR
Buying USDT or any other Cryptocurrecies using ETB (birr) will need a verified bitget account, summarised steps are as below:
Step 1: Navigate to P2P Trading

Step 3: Enter Purchase Details
Step 4: Transfer Funds
Step 5: Complete Trade
Follow these steps to buy cryptocurrency on the Bitget app using P2P trading.
Before trading P2P, ensure you have completed the identity verification process and added your preferred payment method.
Step 1- Navigate to P2P Trading
Open the Bitget app and log in to your account. Navigate to the Home tab and tap the Add Funds button.
Next, select P2P Trading.
Step 2 - Choose Your Crypto
Select the type of cryptocurrency you want to buy and the Fiat currency to use (ETB). You can filter P2P offers by coin type, fiat type, or payment methods. Select USDT (a Stablecoin denominated to the dollar - USD). Once you've made your selection, enter the amount in ETB or USDT and tap Buy to proceed.
Step 3 - Enter Purchase Details
Enter the amount of ETB (Birr) you wish to spend. The system will automatically calculate the amount of USDT or equivalent crypto you will receive. Next, tap Buy USDT.
Click confirm purchase. The merchant's crypto assets are held by Bitget P2P once the order is created.
Step 4 - Transfer Funds
You will need to confirm the payment method to use, then you will be provided with the merchant's payment details, copy the payment details and transfer the funds to the merchant's preferred payment method within the specified time limit, often 15 minutes. You can contact the merchant using the P2P chat box if needed.
After transferring the funds, tap "Paid."
Important Note: Transfer the payment directly to the merchant through a bank transfer or another payment platform (as per their payment details). If you have already transferred the payment, do not click Cancel unless you have received a refund from the merchant. Do not click Paid unless you have completed the payment.
Step 5 - Complete the Trade
Once the seller confirms your payment, they will release the crypto to you, completing the trade. You can click Asset to check your wallet. Alternatively, you can view your purchased crypto in the Assets tab by navigating to Funds and selecting the Transaction History button in the top right corner of the screen.
How to Sell USDT via Bitget P2P (App)
If you need to sell Crypto in currency, follow the P2P Transaction Guide (App version):
1. Log in to the Bitget App. (Required to complete the KYC identity verification process )
2. Click the 'Assets' button on the bottom right part of the Bitget app.
3. Click "Transfer" to move funds from spot wallet to Funding account
4. Now select "Spot wallet" to "funding account", select coin as "USDT" and enter "Transfer amount" and confirm
5. Click the 'Funding ' button on the top menu. Then now click "Buy/Sell" and move to the next step
6. Click on the ‘Sell' located at the top. Proceed to enter the amounts you want to sell in USDT or ETB, then tap "Sell"
7. Await the merchant to make the payment as shown, the trade will be cancelled and funds refunded should the merchant not make the payment in the given period.
8. Once the merchant has made the payment to the payment method you provided, the trade will now need you to release once you confirm receipt of the payment. It is IMPORTANT TO LOGIN TO YOUR BANK AND CONFIRM PAYMENT as all payments are final once released. Should you not receive the payment, click on appeal button to engage support
