World consists of a privacy-protected digital identity network (World ID) based on personal proof and a digital currency (WLD) where permitted by law, aiming to become the largest and most inclusive cryptocurrency network in the world. World has built a device called Orb that captures a person's eye image and converts it into a short digital code that can check if the person is registered. If not, they will receive a free share of Worldcoin. The original image does not need to be stored or uploaded.   On November 29th, Worldcoin launched a new World ID Passport Credential, which is currently being piloted in some countries such as Chile, Colombia, MY, and South Korea. The World ID credential allows individuals to connect a valid form of ID (starting with an NFC-enabled passport) to their World ID without sharing any information with TFH, the World Foundation, or any other third party. Meanwhile, the World Foundation is providing WLD tokens to individuals with valid World ID passport certificates. Individuals who verify their World ID on Orb are eligible to receive a total of approximately 51.69 WLD. Individuals who have added verified passport credentials are eligible to receive additional WLDs, regardless of whether they have verified their World ID on Orb.
