Havoc of Mobb Deep Goes Live in the Metaverse for Hip-Hop’s 50th Birthday

A house party in The Bronx, New York on August 11th, 1973 gave birth to hip-hop culture. Ever since, the alternative society art movement spread from New York housing projects to the whole world, while modern-day hip-hop artists often lead the global pop charts.
Indeed, the rebellious and free spirit of hip-hop culture aligns well with the innovations that blockchain">blockchain technology has to offer. While the culture’s music adopts futuristic, EDM sounds more than ever, three OGs decided to take it up a notch and step into the metaverse to share the creative process with Web3 enthusiasts.
Hip-Hop Icons to Teach Peace in the Metaverse
The first musical metaverse performance will feature three artists – Havoc of Mobb Deep, Saigon, and Jahlil Beats. Havoc, one of the greatest East Coast producers of all time, had a long-standing beef with the Brooklyn-bred rapper Saigon throughout the early 2000s.
On top of that, Havoc, the author of “Eye For An Eye”, had a fair number of altercations with other popular artists throughout his lengthy career, including 2Pac, Jay-Z and even Prodigy, the other half of The Infamous Mobb Deep. However, recently Havoc and Saigon settled their differences and aimed to set a positive example for the community by creating a song together produced by Jahlil Beats.
With four months and 20 days left until the 50th anniversary of hip-hop culture, the celebration series by M.Verse begins today – the countdown clock is punching the last 13 hours, while full-access NFT tickets cost $50 on initial sale. The Polygon-minted NFT ticket includes the Hip-Hop Museum, participation in the song making process, and current airdrops and gives access to attendee-only NFT drops.
