NFT Painting of Ethereum Co-Founder Sells for $392,308 in Secondary Market
A one-of-a-kind NFT painting titled "EthBoy" depicting Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin as a jester has sold for 200 ETH, equivalent to $392,308, on the secondary market. The artwork was created by crypto artists Trevor Jones and Alotta Money and initially sold for a record-breaking 260 ETH in November 2020. The resale of "EthBoy" injects hope into the struggling NFT ecosystem, which has been facing an escalating crisis due to the optional nature of creator fees on major platforms like OpenSea. The original buyer of "EthBoy" will also receive a portion of the creator fee generated by the artwork's sale.
