Beosin: Total losses due to hacking attacks, phishing scams and rug pulls in November reached $356.53 million
According to the monitoring of EagleEye security risk monitoring, early warning and blocking platform under Beosin, a blockchain security audit company, the amount of losses from various security incidents in November 2023 increased significantly compared to October. The total amount of losses caused by hacker attacks, phishing scams, and Rug Pull was 356.53 million US dollars, which is about 6.9 times the total amount of losses in October. Among them, the amount of attack incidents is about 335.63 million US dollars, phishing scam incidents are about 14.6 million US dollars, and Rug Pull incidents are about 6.3 million US dollars.
There were two security incidents in November where funds were stolen by over 100 million US dollars: the encrypted exchange Poloniex was stolen about 126 million US dollars; HTX and its related cross-chain bridge HECO Bridge were stolen about 110 million US dollars. These two security incidents (both under Sun Yuchen's project) accounted for 66% of the losses from hacker attacks this month. This month, phishing incidents increased compared to the previous month, with several individual addresses being phished for over 1 million US dollars. In addition, the number of global cryptocurrency criminal cases increased significantly this month, with many cases involving over 100 million US dollars, including fraud, money laundering, and other types.
