US presidential candidate criticizes Gary Gensler and US SEC for failing to clarify cryptocurrency regulations
According to Beincrypto, reports that US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is known for his friendly stance towards cryptocurrency and harshly criticizes Gary Gensler and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for failing to clarify cryptocurrency regulations. During a Republican primary debate, Ramaswamy was asked if cryptocurrency would also bring economic freedom to bad actors, to which he stated that regulatory agencies must keep up with current trends because bad actors have long been deceiving people and cited the example of FTX's closure to demonstrate that the current regulatory framework is not working.
Another US presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Ron DeSantis, also criticized the current state of US cryptocurrency regulation. He opposes the development of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), stating that they deprive citizens of privacy and impose absolute control over citizens' purchasing behavior.
