Scam Sniffer stated that the CoinGecko X account theft incident was caused by social engineering attacks that led to the authorization of malicious third-party applications on Twitter, resulting in the sending of phishing tweets. Never trust the domain name displayed on Twitter cards, as it may have been tampered with.
