$2 Billion Worth of Dormant Bitcoin Revealed Within Days of Spot Bitcoin ETF Trading Begins
After the approval of the Bitcoin ETF in the United States less than a week ago, nearly 50,000 long-dormant bitcoins were reactivated. This discovery comes from the cryptocurrency tracking agency Arkham Intelligence.
According to Arkham's report, these bitcoins were last moved in 2019 and 2013, and have been dormant for 11 years. These bitcoins were originally stored in 49 addresses and have now been consolidated into 5 addresses, totaling about 49,858 bitcoins, worth about 2.12 billion US dollars.
Arkham wrote on social media platform "X": "Before the opening of the US market today, dormant bitcoins worth 2 billion US dollars moved between several related addresses. Historically, these bitcoins always move at the same time and date."
