Ethereum Latest Conference: Pectra's Devnet-1 is expected to be implemented in the next week or two
On July 5th, according to the summary of the 191st Ethereum Execution Layer Core Developer Meeting (ACDE) shared on the Ethereum forum, the meeting discussed the Pectra update and multiple proposals including EIP-7212. 1. Regarding the Pectra update, more clients are being prepared before the release of Devnet-1, but it is expected to be implemented in the next one or two weeks. The new update of EIP-7702 will be introduced on Devnet-2. 2. The EIP-7212 proposal has received support, but the decision to formally include it in Pectra will be made at the next ACDE meeting. This proposal brings many good user experience improvements in key/wallet management and uses widely supported encryption curves. 3. The meeting also discussed a proposal to add events to the pre-deployed system contract to facilitate cross-layer communication with EIP-7002 and EIP-7251. Everyone agreed that this change is meaningful and will update the corresponding contract. 4. The meeting called for the deactivation of EIP-158 2 to simplify the deployment of EIP-7702 and Verkle migration, but this proposal is no longer necessary given the latest update of 7702. 5. Finally, the meeting discussed progress in other protocol improvements, such as changes to expired history and blob memory pools to simplify user use of blob, such as rollup. Some people called for more regular updates on the progress of EIP-4444 and called on rollup and clients to take various measures to handle the process from blob producers to on-chain blob inclusion more intelligently.
