Three major U.S. stock indexes end mixed

The three major U.S. indexes closed mixed, with the Dow up 0.6%, continuing its record high; the Nasdaq fell 2.77% and the S&P 500 lost 1.39%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunged 6.8%.
