Many players who tested the game mentioned that the build was from the end of June. However, the latest information from Warhammer’s developers confirms that it could have been from earlier months.
According to players, the leaked build, approximately 75GB, launches and plays without many hitches. However, Focus Entertainment and Saber have worked to remove any of the content online.

In the tweet , Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment outlined that the leaked build revealed surprises players would get with the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 release. The tweet highlighted the two companies’ discouragement due to the time and effort put in by the development team to provide players with the best experience.
The companies also regret that many fans experienced the game for the first time in the incomplete build. Focus Entertainment revealed that delivering the best to players was the main driving force behind its long-term development. Saber and Focus Entertainment said that the best way to support the companies and the development team was to wait and play the completed game once it launched.
The game developer initially scheduled Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s launch at the end of 2023. However, Focus Entertainment released a statement in November 2023 extending the game’s release to the second half of 2024. The company will release other titles this year, including Banishers: Ghost of New Eden and Expeditions: A MudRunner Game.
Focus Entertainment delays the game’s beta
In a June 28 update, Space Marine 2 developers canceled the game’s beta to focus entirely on its launch on September 9. The Space Marine 2 team still appreciated the gaming community’s increased enthusiasm for the game.
According to the announcement, the public online beta would take time from the development team, which is supposed to go toward polishing the game before launch. However, once the game releases, it will offer players who registered for the beta before June 28 the limited Porphyr Shield Bolt Pistol skin.
The team mentioned the previously released gameplay overview, which looked into the different modes players can expect. Some modes revealed in the announcement included the Campaign, Operations, and External War modes.
The Space Marine 2 team also outlined the significance of the videos it released. Saber and Focus Entertainment hope to offer players a look into different aspects of the game, promising more content in the months before the launch.
