Hamster Kombat announces airdrop date after multiple delays
Hamster Kombat, a popular tap-to-earn game built on the TON blockchain, has finally set the date for its token generation event (TGE) and subsequent airdrop.
The much-anticipated event is scheduled for September 26th, despite the project facing legal challenges in Russia from alleged early investors.
Hamster Kombat, which boasts over 300 million active users, plans to release its token, HMSTR (CRYPTO:HMSTR), benefiting millions of users through the airdrop.
The airdrop was initially planned for July, then postponed to August, but the team later withheld a specific date due to the event’s complexity, calling it a “technically complex undertaking, unprecedented in the blockchain world.”
According to the newly released whitepaper, 60% of the total HMSTR token supply will be allocated to users, rewarding them for the game's success and popularity.
To support the airdrop, the team has launched a series of in-game events and utilities centered around the HMSTR token, creating a comprehensive ecosystem.
The Hamster Kombat team has made it clear that they have refused venture capital (VC) investments to avoid becoming “exit liquidity” for investors, ensuring that all users have “the same opportunity” to benefit from the airdrop.
Despite these preparations, the project has not addressed concerns about its origins or the legal actions it may face from alleged early investors.
Reports from Russian media suggest that the project is involved in a legal dispute with Ad.ru, a principal investor in Arena, the company purportedly behind Hamster Kombat.
It remains unclear whether these legal challenges could impact the scheduled airdrop event.
Meanwhile, the HMSTR token is already trading on platforms offering pre-market options, allowing early participants to engage with the token before the official TGE.
