EthOS Launches dGEN1 Hardware Device for On-Chain Interaction with Ethereum
On October 18, The Block reported that ethOS, the ethereum-based operating system, launched dGEN1, a hardware device for interacting with on-chain dApps and running a light client. The company describes the dGEN1 as “the first on-chain daily carry product,” which includes a browser and a built-in wallet. It also features a dedicated screen that displays transaction notifications and metadata during network interactions.
The dGEN1 device can be pre-ordered by casting an NFT on the Layer 2 Network Base for 0.2 ETH ($520). The company expects to ship the devices in the second quarter of 2025. To date, approximately 630 users have cast NFTs. device owners will be rewarded with airdrops upon delivery of dGEN1, with each owner entitled to an equal share of the airdrop pool.
The dGEN1 does not have telecommunication capabilities, but is designed specifically to interact with Ether. in August, Ether co-founder Vitalik donated 200 ETH to support the project.
