Lichtenstein was charged with conspiracy to launder money and committing fraud against the United States. For these offenses, he could have been imprisoned for 20 and five years, respectively, but the judge handed down a lenient verdict, sentencing Ilya to five years in prison.

The hacker was given leniency because he cooperated with the police and helped investigate other crimes, such as those committed by the founder. Bitcoin -mixer Bitcoin Fog Roman Sterling, who was recently sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison for money laundering.

Heather, known by her stage name Razzlekhan, is scheduled to be sentenced on November 18.
