Semler Scientific reports 37.3% Bitcoin yield growth
Semler Scientific has reported a 37.3% yield on its Bitcoin holdings since adopting a Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) treasury strategy earlier this year.
The tech solutions company uses Bitcoin yield as a key performance indicator (KPI) to measure the success of its BTC acquisition approach, which involves funding purchases through the issuance of additional shares.
On November 18, Semler Scientific announced an increase in its Bitcoin holdings, acquiring 215 BTC for $17.7 million between November 6 and 15 at an average cost of $82,502 per coin, inclusive of expenses and fees.
This purchase boosted the company's total Bitcoin assets to 1,273 BTC, accumulated at an average price of $69,682 for a total of $88.7 million.
With Bitcoin currently trading around $89,600, Semler Scientific’s holdings are valued at approximately $114 million.
“We have achieved a BTC Yield of 37.3% since adopting our Bitcoin treasury strategy in the second quarter of this year,” highlighted Eric Semler, chairman of Semler Scientific, emphasising the positive impact of their Bitcoin strategy.
CEO Doug Murphy-Chutorian reiterated the company’s dedication to Bitcoin, noting that they remain “laser-focused on acquiring and holding Bitcoin” and are considering financing strategies to continue expanding their holdings.
Meanwhile, Japanese investment firm Metaplanet announced plans to increase its Bitcoin reserves by issuing one-year bonds valued at 1.75 billion yen (approximately $11.3 million) with an annual interest rate of 0.36%.
The bond redemption is set for November 17, 2025.
Semler Scientific’s strong Bitcoin yield and continued acquisitions reflect a growing trend among companies integrating Bitcoin into their financial strategies, showcasing confidence in the asset as part of their portfolio.
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin (BTC) price was $91,299.52.
