MicroStrategy Chairman Michael Saylor has announced that he will present a three-minute pitch to Microsoft’s board of directors on why the tech giant should consider investing in Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC).

The opportunity comes as Microsoft prepares for a shareholder vote on December 10 regarding whether it should assess the potential of Bitcoin as an investment asset.

Saylor explained during a November 19 X Spaces event hosted by VanEck that he was approached by an activist behind the proposal.

“The activist that put that proposal together contacted me to present to the board, and I agreed to provide a three-minute presentation — that’s all you’re allowed — and I’m going to present it to the board of directors,” Saylor stated.

Earlier, Saylor had offered to meet privately with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to discuss the idea, but that proposal was not taken up.

“So you will see me putting together the three-minute proposal for Microsoft […], and we’ll send it to the board,” he reiterated.

The push for this discussion comes from the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR), which highlighted that MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin strategy has outperformed Microsoft’s share price by more than 300% this year, despite MicroStrategy’s smaller scale of operations.

Saylor argued that adding Bitcoin to Microsoft’s holdings could provide greater stability.

“It would be a lot more stable stock and a much less risky stock if half of the enterprise value of the stock was based upon tangible assets or property like Bitcoin,” He said.

Microsoft’s board, which includes 12 members such as Nadella and executives from companies like The Walt Disney Company and Citigroup, has recommended shareholders vote against the proposal.

They stated that Microsoft already evaluates a broad range of investment assets, including Bitcoin.

Despite this, the upcoming vote could put Microsoft in a position to formally address its stance on Bitcoin.

At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin (BTC) price was $92,040.72.
