Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) filed a a trademark application for a cryptocurrency payment service called TruthFi.
The application text states that the platform will focus on cryptocurrency payments, financial transaction management, digital asset trading, and providing capital custody services.
Experts say the move is an attempt by Trump Media to diversify its business beyond Truth Social, a social media platform that relies on Trump regularly posting messages to his most loyal supporters.
Washington-based trademark analyst Josh Gerben emphasized that the filing is a way for Trump Media to reserve the TruthFi name in case the cryptocurrency business continues to expand.
In his opinion, most often companies reserve names for several years, but in most cases they use them immediately after receiving the appropriate approval.
Earlier it became known that TMTG began negotiations to purchase all shares of the cryptocurrency platform Bakkt . Apparently, the company's management intends to get the maximum benefit from the crypto industry, which, however, is not surprising, given the character of US President Donald Trump himself.
