Elon Musk Weighs in on Rumors of Biden Pardoning SBF
Speculations started swirling around when a well-known crypto voice on X, @WallStreetMav posted on X, stating that FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried may receive an early pardon under Biden administration. To this post, Elon Musk, the owner of X and CEO of Tesla, posted his views on the situation which has sparked a debate within the community.
Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, faced a great amount of scrutiny after the exchange collapsed. The founder is also known to be the second largest donor to the Democrats. The founder and his team members donated almost $70 million during the midterm elections back in 2022. Due to such huge chunk of donation from SBF, @WallStreetMav pointed towards a possibility of an early pardon of SBF under the Biden administration.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, jumped into the conversation and replied to the post saying ” I will be shocked if this doesn’t happen.” This comment from Musk further added fuel to public speculation as this comment suggests that SBF’s previous political ties may influence the outcome of his case. The influence could also lead to a pardon or leniency. This comment by Elon Musk is sparking debate about the intersection of politics, power and justice within the crypto community.
Polymarket Data and Public Sentiment
With these rumors circulating around, Wu Blockchain, a well-known news outlet, highlighted another point. According to the Polymarket, a predictive betting platform, the chances of SBF being pardoned by Joe Biden currently are only 13%.
Since Elon Musk commented on the post, the chance of SBF being pardoned has increased. Wu Block reported it to be 5% but currently, the chances stand at 13%.
