Head of Development at Stacking DAO Lior Shimron listed 7 trends for 2025 concerning the further development of the crypto market. The first concerns the creation of a strategic reserve in bitcoins in one of the countries included in the BRICS or G7 economic bloc.

Despite Donald Trump's intention to create such a reserve in bitcoins, Congressional approval is required, and until it is received, one of the countries will try to get ahead of the United States in this race, the expert is sure.

The second trend affects the stablecoin industry. According to Shimron, the capitalization of the stablecoin sector could increase to $400 billion, and the driver of this process will be the adoption of laws for stablecoins in the United States.

The third trend of the expert is connected with L2 solutions in the Bitcoin network. The programmability and scalability of the Bitcoin network will increase sharply.

In the fourth case, the expert said that spot prices will continue to grow bitcoin ETF next year, will be added staking into existing spot ETH- ETF , cryptocurrency funds will be launched based on Solana , which will attract new investors.

The fifth trend involves Bitcoin being added to the balance sheets of other major tech companies besides Tesla, thanks to new rules for accounting for cryptocurrency assets from the US Financial Accounting Standards Board that have come into effect.

According to trend number six, the cryptocurrency market capitalization will exceed $8 trillion. Shimron expects the number of developers in the ecosystem to increase in 2025, creating a wave of innovation. He estimates that this will lead to entirely new solutions in areas such as decentralized finance and artificial intelligence (AI).

Finally, the seventh trend concerns the revival of cryptocurrency startups. According to Shimron, the cryptocurrency industry in the United States is on the verge of a revival. The change in leadership of the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the support of the industry by the president-elect will push the business to develop and lead to the emergence of a new wave of startups.
