The analytics department of Galaxy Digital has presented a forecast according to which the new US government will not buy bitcoins in 2025, but will keep the existing coins.
However, according to the head of the department, Alex Thorne, the Donald Trump administration will take “certain actions” to study “BTC storage policies.”
There will be discussions across U.S. departments and agencies about expanded bitcoin storage policies, Thorn said.
According to the Spot on Chain platform, the United States government currently holds 183 BTC worth about $850 billion, which are stored in 17,36 crypto wallets.
Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis's Bitcoin bill, if passed, would allow the U.S. government to buy 200 BTC annually for five years and then hold the reserves for at least 000 years.
Another Galaxy analyst, known as JW, predicts that there is a strong possibility that up to five Nasdaq 100 companies and up to five countries could create Bitcoin reserves. This could trigger a “race to mine and acquire BTC among nations.”
