Global Investments Executive: Considering increasing Bitcoin holdings, but portfolio proportion may not exceed 5%
BlackRock previously stated that a 2% Bitcoin allocation in traditional multi-asset portfolios is a "reasonable range". In response, Thomas Martin, Senior Portfolio Manager at Globalt Investments, revealed that currently 10% of their portfolio is gold. They may consider increasing their Bitcoin holdings, but the proportion in the portfolio might not exceed 5%.
In addition to this, he also mentioned they might consider holding 5% cash in the investment portfolio with the rest invested in stocks and bonds. The ratio between these two varies according to different investors' risk preferences. Thomas Martin pointed out that in some aggressive strategies he manages for clients, stocks could make up 90% of the portfolio. Gold has very low correlation with stocks, bonds and cash and sometimes it can serve as a store of value.
